Primrose cottage (five star)

Accommodation: Primrose Cottage was the third-built of our cottages and was designed in traditional Irish style. We call it ‘The ceilidh house’ as it takes the long Irish tradition of domestic musical entertainment as its theme. It provides its visitors with all the facilities and comforts of home. The cottage enjoys a country setting and sits slightly apart from the others. It was officially opened in April 2005.

Like the others, it provides an authentic atmosphere of days gone by with a turf-burning stove in the cosy living room which also contains the dining area. A lofty ceiling provides an airy feel. TV, DVD player and stereo system hide away on a curtained shelf.

The Utility room leads off the living room and houses a washing machine, tumble-drier and ironing facilities.

Bathroom with bath and separate shower cubicle. Towels and bed linen are provided.

Bedroom The sleeping area consists of a mezzanine floor overlooking the living room from which it is reached by stairway. Primrose Cottage sleeps two. Either a double bed or twin beds can be provided. The bedroom window overlooks the surrounding fields with their livestock and crops.

Annie's and Davy's cottages (four star)

Annie's is known as 'the wheelwright's cottage', remembering an early resident of Rosevale farm who made wooden wagon wheels. Only Annie's is wheelchair-friendly.

Excavations carried out in Davy's revealed a drainage channel (or 'group' in Ulster-Scots), indicating that it may have been a 'byre cottage' in years gone by.

Accommodation: This is based around the traditional Irish cottage kitchen where, in days gone by, all the family activities went on with the big turf-burning hearth as the focal point. Off the kitchen is the kitchenette with electric cooker, microwave oven, fridge-freezer and even dishwasher.

Double bedroom with traditional iron bed; twin bedroom styled on the recessed box beds commonly found in the cottages of Ireland. Full-size upper bunks can be fitted to allow this bedroom to accommodate up to four little people ; bathroom includes bath with shower.

Hugh's cottage (three star)

Hugh's is known as 'the farm manager's cottage'. Its external appearance suggests it is a cut above the rest - something more than a farm labourer's humble abode!

Hugh’s cottage is recently-built but in period style with eclectic mix of country cottage ground floor and quirky modernity upstairs. Don't be fooled by the small frontage of Hugh's - it extends both backwards and sideways to make for very roomy accommodation.

Accommodation: The kitchen is downstairs, is very well appointed and is comprehensively equipped with electric cooker, microwave oven, fridge-freezer and dishwasher. The adjacent dining area leads out to a landscaped garden and patio with table and chairs.

The modern lounge is upstairs with panoramic views over the surrounding countryside. It is well-equipped with stylish furniture, TV, DVD player and stereo.

Double bedroom with traditional furnishings is downstairs; two twin bedrooms are located upstairs; in addition, there is a daybed set in an alcove to accommodate visitors! A shower room with toilet is located in the ground floor and an additional toilet with wash basin on the upper floor.

All cottages provide oil fired central heating throughout; telephone; TV, VCR, DVD and stereo; laundry with washing machine and tumble drier; storage space for bicycles, golf clubs, fishing gear etc.
